Thursday 8th August Betting Advice.

Brighton 3.50.

Last years winner Ethics Girl can go close again for trainer John Berry and group 1 winning jockey Alan Kirby. She has run some great races in defeat and will be good each way value in a minefield of a race where you could not count out to many of her rivals. 1 point each way.

Haydock 3.10.

Another long shot worth a look at is Madame Elizabeth who is likely top be one of the outsiders of the field. The Multiplex filly has got badly hampered in her last few races.  At Bath last time you can put a line totally through that race as she got no run whatsoever, in the end the jockey just stood up on her. She needs a good strong pace and with a clear run through can go close at tasty odds. 1 point each way.

6.30 Southwell

This mile handicap contest can go to course specialist The Lock Master. He had the use of useful claimer Toby Atkinson taking 5 pound of his back which will be a big help. He will therefore be running of 80 and he won at the course and distance a couple of runs back on a mark of 79 with some ease. This track is where he performs best and is picked to gain his 5th course win. 1point win.

6.35 Sligo

The veteran Tin Town Boy looks a good thing in the 2 mile handicap hurlde on the card for Harry Rogers and champion jockey Davy Russell. He won a 2mile flat race handicap in Galway last week at the age of 12 and is a credit to connections. He has previously finished 2nd at this track in his last run over hurdles in may, and always saves his best for Sligo or Galway. The softer conditions he loves should see him gain his 7th win between both codes. 1 point win.
