Aki who has had a frustrating time at Connacht this season was very vocal to the referee during the derby match with Leinster earlier this month and this may be a sign of the player’s frustration at the goings on at Connacht, with Pat Lam leaving and no major signing for next season.

Bundee Aki of Connacht Rugby has been formally charged with misconduct by the Disciplinary Officer of PRO12 Rugby as a result of his behaviour to and remarks directed toward, referee Ian Davies, during and immediately after the Round 20 fixture between Connacht Rugby and Leinster Rugby (April 15, 2017).

Those actions constitute misconduct under the tournament’s Disciplinary Rules, in particular pursuant to the clauses set out in Section 3. Mr Aki will attend a Disciplinary Hearing in Cardiff via video link on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

The Disciplinary Panel will consist of two members, Roger Morris (Chair) and Simon Thomas (both Wales), which has been approved by Connacht Rugby. If the misconduct complaint is upheld by the Disciplinary Panel then Mr Aki could face a fine and/or a suspension.
