Ferris and Davies cited after Six Nations opener

Updated: February 7, 2012

DUBLIN (AP) — Wales lock Bradley Davies and Ireland backrower Stephen Ferris have been cited for dangerous tackles during their weekend Six Nations match.

Davies has been called to account over a tip tackle on Donnacha Ryan for which he was yellow-carded with 15 minutes remaining, while Ferris was penalized for a similar offense against Ian Evans.

Ferris’ mistake gave Wales a late penalty, which Leigh Halfpenny kicked to earn a 23-21 win for his side on Sunday.
