Kane Douglas will be a Leinster player next year said Head Coach Matt O’Connor earlier today, with an annoucement expected shortly.

Things have progressed pretty well there. We are not too far away from making an announcement on that. Very (confident he will be playing here next year) yes. The profile is perfect. A young guy who wants to get to get better, wants to experience winning things in the Northern Hemisphere – it’s fantastic for us. Hopefully that gets across the line and we can tell you more about it at the time.

It’s a not a frustration. We’ve been in the market place a little bit looking at those slots. I wouldn’t be disappointed we have missed out on anyone there in relation to who they have signed. We will wait. There is a few options for us that we are looking at and we will let you know as soon as they become a reality.
We are looking at all our options. We need to bolster our midfield. We are probably a body or even two bodies short in relation to that with the ongoing issues with Luke (Fitzgerald) and the number of guys who are in the mix nationally. We got to make sure we cover all our basis and we’ve got a squad to compete at Heineken Cup level and ultimately in the Rabo.
