Leinster: D’Arcy should be fit for Connacht clash

Updated: September 24, 2012

Leinster’s Gordon D’Arcy is expected to be fit for Friday night’s RaboDirect PRO12 inter-provincial clash with Connacht in the Sportsgrounds.

The Irish centre took a heavy blow to the ribs in Saturday’s 22-16 win over Edinburgh but should be fit to play in Galway this Friday.

Eoin Reddan is still suffering from a quad strain that forced him to withdraw from Saturday’s line up and will be monitored this week by Leinster’s medical team ahead of the final squad announcement.

St. Mary’s duo Shane Jennings and Jonathan Sexton are still not fully fit from illness and forearm problems respectively, but are expected to be available by Thursday’s announcement.

Friday’s game also marks the 150th Leinster appearance for Jamie Heaslip as the Naas stalwart looks set to line out in his familiar No. 8 role.

Ticket sales for Leinster’s next home match against Munster have already passed the 32,000 mark and are on sale from all the usual outlets.
