Leinster Rugby have added Leo Cullen and Marco Caputo to their backroom coaching staff for next season, the province has announced.
Cullen, who will retire from playing at the end of the current season, will become forwards coach and former Australia hooker Caputo will be joining the province as scrum coach.
Head coach Matt O’Connor welcome his new additions ahead of next weekend’s crucial RaboDirect PRO12 playoff final with Glasgow at the RDS.
He said: “Leo will bring a huge amount to Leinster Rugby as a coach and will continue the excellent work that Jono Gibbes has done over the last six seasons.
“As a three-time winning Heineken Cup captain he already commands the respect of the players and that won’t change.”
On Caputo’s signing, O’Connor said: “I’ve known Marco for a long time and have been impressed by the work he has been doing at the various clubs that he has coached.”
The news follows the signing of Australia lock Kane Douglas and the contract extension of assistant coach Richie Murphy.
“Richie has made a significant contribution over a number of years and I look forward to continuing to work with him,” said O’Connor.
