Ian Madigan has committed his future to Leinster until at least the end of the 2015/2016 season.
The extension comes after a highly successful season for Madigan (24) which saw him make his international debut for Ireland as well as featuring 32 times for his home province.
Madigan who was educated at famous rugby nursery Blackrock College will hope to fill the boots of the French bound Johnathan Sexton as he vies with new signing from Newcastle Jimmy Gopparth for the outhalf role.
New Leinster coach Matt O’Connor announced that he was delighted with Madigan’s decision to extend his contract with the Amlin Cup champions
‘”We are delighted that Ian has extended his stay with Leinster, he displayed a real level of consistency in his performances last year, which was recognised by his peers in being voted the Players Player of the Year as well as picking up the Golden Boot award as the top kicker in the PRO12.
“We are confident that his best years are ahead of him and he can achieve even greater things in the years to come.”
Leinster fans will be delighted that Madigan, who has featured 81 times for the province has decided to extend his stay at the RDS as his attacking brand of rugby has seen him win many plaudits over the past few seasons.
