Plans have already been put in motion by Celtic Rugby to begin talks with potential new sponsors for next season after RaboDirect confirmed they would be ceasing their sponsorship of the competition at the end of the upcoming season after 3 years involvement.
John Feehan CEO of Celtic Rugby is confident of securing a lucrative deal for the competition especially as the league is set to be covered by Sky from the 2014/2015 season.
Feehan is hopeful of securing a sponsor who has a presence in all the countries represented in the league as opposed to being based primarily in one, as was the case with RaboDirect.
‘It would be very helpful if we can get a title sponsor who is active in Britain and Ireland and hopefully Italy as well.
We’ll be able to deliver a very similar level of output in terms of people watching it, level of exposure generally, awareness and quality generally compared to any other rugby competition’.
The RaboDirect Pro 12 2013/2014 season will kick off on the 6th September as defending champions Leinster face the Scarlets.
