With three rounds remaining the race to reach the Guinness PRO12 Final Series is intensifying, but the results in Round 20 will provide more clarity on just which teams will be in pole position to make the knock-out stages.

Depending on results this weekend, leaders Leinster Rugby may secure their place in Guinness Final Series, but Munster Rugby, Ospreys Rugby, Scarlets, Ulster Rugby and even Glasgow Warriors are all still in contention.

With Ospreys, Ulster and Scarlets very close in terms of match-day points totals, we would like to underline the criteria for tie-breakers. If two or more Teams finish with the same number of Championship points, their placings will be determined by the following criteria in descending order:

  • number of matches won;
  • the difference between points for and points against;
  • the number of tries scored;
  • the most points scored;
  • the difference between tries for and tries against;
  • the fewest number of suspensions;
  • the fewest number of yellow cards received;
  • toss of a coin
