Racing Metro are rumored to have lined up Ireland and Leinster out-half Jonathan Sexton according to reports in France.

The French newspaper Midi Olympique have published an article with the headline ‘Sexton attendu’ (‘Sexton expected’). The paper also claims the out-half met with Metro officials twice this season.

The paper reports that he will sign a contract before the start of the Six Nations.

In recent years some of Ireland’s leading lights, Brain O’Driscoll and Ronan O’Gara have all been close, or at least rumored to have been close to singing for other French clubs.

O’Driscoll recently admitted his appearance in the crowd at a Biarritz Olympique game in 2007 was nothing but a ruse to get more from the IRFU when his contract came up for renewal.

As it stands Leinster has refused to comment until a press conference later this evening.

Sexton’s current contract with the IRFU runs until the end of this season.
