South African International and Ulster scrum half Ruan Pienaar has signed a three year contract extension to the Northern Irish side.
The announcement came on Tuesday which now keeps the star scrum half at Ravenhill until 2017.
Pienaar who has been a vital player since joining the side in 2010 has scored over 510 points in 63 games, is delighted to stay with the Celtic League side.
“I am delighted to be staying at Ulster,” said Pienaar.
“I have really enjoyed my first three seasons at the province and I am looking forward to helping the team compete for silverware in the coming years.”
Ulster’s director of rugby David Humphreys also was pleased with news as he praised the Springbok international.
“To be successful, you need top-class players, therefore I am extremely pleased that Ruan, who is one of the best scrum-halves anywhere in the world, is extending his time with us” said Humphreys.
“The announcement of this contract will give everyone at Ulster Rugby -? the players, the staff and the fans — a huge lift, especially as it had been wrongly reported that Ruan would be leaving us.”
