2014-15 Premier League fixture list: Liverpool and City face difficult start

The fixture list for the upcoming Premier League season has been announced. Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United will get their campaign underway against Swansea. Champions Manchester City will begin their defence against Newcastle at St James’s park.

Liverpool have home advantage in their opening encounter against Southampton while Chelsea will travel to newly promoted Burnley. Arsenal meet Crystal Palace in their opening encounter at the Emirates.

The opening day of the Premier league gets underway on the 16th of August with the following fixture

Arsenal v Crystal Palace
Aston Villa v Stoke
Burnley v Chelsea
Everton v Leicester
Hull v QPR
Liverpool v Southampton
Manchester City v Newcastle
Manchester United v Swansea
Sunderland v West Brom
Tottenham v West Ham

Manchester United have a much easier fixture list than their rival Manchester City and Liverpool who meet on the 23rd of August. Van Gaal will be under pressure to improve United’s fortunes and with his first 6 games featuring 3 newly promoted teams Van Gaal should be happy and confident that United can get their campaign off to a good start.
