Reading’s Alex Pearce has been added to the squad for the Poland match

The FAI have announced that Alex Pearce has been added to the  Republic of Ireland squad for the Poland match on February 6.

The call up comes after FC Toronto were in touch to ask if Darren O’Dea could remain with his club during their pre-season preparations which are on-going at this time. Giovanni Trapattoni has agreed to accommodate the request.

Pearce who plays for an centre back for Reading  won his first and only cap so far for Ireland, scoring on his debut against Oman in September 2012.

In other match related news, the FAI has announced that holders of Republic of Ireland v Poland tickets on February 6 (KO 19.45hrs, Aviva Stadium) will be given free entry to the U21 Republic of Ireland v Holland match which takes place in Tallaght Stadium earlier the same day, kicking off at 13.00hrs.
