Balotelli charged with violent conduct by FA

Updated: January 23, 2012

Mario Balotelli has been charged by the English FA following an incident with Spurs midfielder Scott Parker on Sunday.

The Italian scored a last minute penalty to give Manchester City a vital 3-2 victory against Tottenham but earlier, he appeared to stamp on Parker’s head.

Following his dismissal earlier in the season against Liverpool, Balotelli faces a four-match ban and he has until 6pm on Wednesday 25 January 2012 to respond to the charge. If his appeal is unsuccessful, Balotelli faces a longer ban regarding the incident.

However, Joleon Lescott will not be punished after his clash with Spurs defender Younes Kaboul.
