Bayern Munich have set up a Champions League final on their home ground with Chelsea on May 19th after they beat Real Madrid 3-1 on penalties.
Real appeared to be cruising when they went 2-0 up on the night, and 3-2 on aggregrate, inside the opening 14 minutes thanks to a brace from Ronaldo.
However a goal from former Real star Arjen Robben on 27 minutes, again from the spot, levelled matters on aggregrate.
That was the last of the scoring and the next 63 minutes of normal time and 30 minutes of added time passed without the winner.
In the penalty shoot out the normally reliable Ronaldo and the experienced pair of Kaka and Sergio Ramos all missed to hand the initiative to Bayern Munich who duly accepted with Sebastian Schweinsteiger, yellow carded in normal time and out of the final, scoring the winning kick.
