Blackburn Rovers will be looking for a new manager following the news that they have sacked manager Michael Appleton after less than three months in charge.

Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker has installed reserve team manager Gary Bowyer as the 3/1 favourite to be the next permanent manager at Ewood Park.

Hot on his heels is former Blackburn Rover Captain Tim Sherwood at 6/1. Sherwood was notably the captain when Blackburn won the Premier league in 1995. He now is Technical Co-Ordinator at Tottenham Hotspur.

Other contenders include Judan Ali (6/1) and current Bahrain Football trainer Peter Taylor (7/1).

Leon Blanche, Head of Communications at Boylesports, commented “Gary Bowyer is a major contender at 3/1 to become next permanent manager at Ewood Park.”

He added “Former Premiership winning captain Tim Sherwood cannot be ruled out at 6/1.”
