KASHIMA, Japan (AP) — Brazilian Jorginho has signed a one-year contract to manage the J-League’s Kashima Antlers.

The 47-year-old Jorginho, who played for Kashima from 1995 to 1998, replaces fellow Brazilian Oswaldo Oliveira, the team announced Thursday.

Jorginho was an assistant to Dunga on Brazil’s 2010 World Cup team and coached Figueirense to seventh in the Brazilian championship last year.

Kashima finished sixth last season in their fifth and final year under Oliveira.
