Celtic are reportedly on the trail of promising young Liverpool striker Michael Ngoo. The Scottish giants have been keeping tabs on the player and are keen to sign him over the summer.
The 20-year-old, has yet to establish a first team place at Anfield and recently joined Hearts in a six-month loan deal. The English U20 striker has made eight appearances in the Scottish Premier League to date, and managed to find the net twice. His form has now come to the attention of Celtic boss Neil Lennon, who is eager to add to his squad.
Reports in the Liverpool Echo, claim Lennon has been impressed with what he has seen from Ngoo in his few months in Scotland, and sees him as the ideal type of player to strengthen his side for next season. A separate report in The Daily Mail says the striker would be available this summer for around £2m. It appears that Liverpool do not see him as a long term prospect and are prepared to take a profit if the price was right.
The Mail went on to report that Lennon has identified Ngoo as a replacement for Gary Hooper, who is expected to leave Celtic in the summer and move South to the Premiership.
