Celtic’s Champions League hopes are over as they got
beaten 3-0 by Juventus in Celtic Park on Tuesday night.
Boylesports.com go a huge 14/1 on Liverpool – Chelsea – Newcastle – Tottenham to win on Thursday
Juventus first goal was a little fortunate as Alessandro Matri was credited with a toe-poke through Fraser Forster’s legs which looked to be cleared off the line before Claudio Marchisio made sure.
Kris Commons and Efe Ambrose came close to equalising for Celtic but they were unable to hit the back of net.
Juventus got their second with 15 minutes remaining when Marchisio finished Matri’s flick, before Mirko Vucinic added a third from Marchisio’s pass following Ambrose’s error.
It was a bad night for Celtic but Juventus look really Champions League contenders.
Manager Neil Lennon concedes Celtic “need a miracle” if they are to overcome a 3-0 home defeat.
“We know it’s a daunting prospect going to Turin at any stage and a 3-0 deficit is almost insurmountable,” said Lennon.
“If we can create the kind of chances we did tonight and take them, who knows?
“We need to try and be competitive and try and work our way into the tie but it’s going to be a huge ask now.”
