Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson looks set for a £2.5million move to Everton.
Sir Alex Ferguson has already told the player he can leave United, and it’s understood he has already held preliminary talks with Toffees.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder looked set to sign for Sunderland in the summer, but the proposed move broke down and he remained at Old Trafford.
The Derry man has made just two appearances this season, having fallen out of favour at United. He has also suffered a broken metatarsal.
The 24-year-old was recently fined by Ferguson, along with Wayne Rooney and Jonny Evans after a late night drinking session.
Gibson needs to be playing regular first team football if he hopes to made the Ireland squad for Euro 2012, and is understood to be keen on a move to Everton.
