Euro 2016 draw: The best group Republic of Ireland can hope to get

The draw for the expanded European Football Championships has taken place and the Republic of Ireland EURO 2016 Group Draw looks difficult.

Martin O’Neil and Roy Keane’ side  are in a tough group with Germany, Gibraltar, Georgia, Scotland, Poland.

The top two teams qualify automatically and the third place teams enter a play-off so the big matches of group will be against the third seeds Poland and fourth seeds Scotland.

Sean St Ledger  - Its a very difficult group, we would have liked to avoid Germany but the players will be looking forward to game against Scotland. Germany are set to top the group so we will be playing for second.

Group B: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Andorra, Cyprus, Wales, Israel, Belgium

Group C: Spain, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Belarus, Slovakia, Ukraine

Group D: Germany, Gibraltar, Georgia, Scotland, Poland, Republic of Ireland

Group E: England, San Marino, Lithuania, Estonia, Slovenia, Switzerland

Group F: Greece, Faroe Islands, Northern Ireland, Finland, Romania, Hungary

Group G: Russia, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, Austria, Sweden

Group H: Italy, Malta, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Norway, Croatia

Group I: Portugal, France, Albania, Armenia, Serbia, Denmark
