Former Celtic midfielder Evander Sno suffered a heart attack while playing for Dutch side NEC against Feynoord at the weekend, two years after a similar incident while playing for Ajax reserves.
Sno was able to walk off the pitch due to the defibrillator he had fitted after the 2010 heart attack but spent the night in hospital.
Feynoord doctor Casper van Eijck who treated Sno said, “Evander had a cardiac arrest which was followed by a shock from his internal defibrillator.
“And the shock is what he felt and that terrified him, which I could see in his eyes on the pitch.”
A statement issued on Celticfc.net said, “Clearly all the best thoughts and best wishes of everyone at the Club are with Evander and his family at this time, and we are sure Evander can also count on the support from the entire Celtic family.”
