French International defender Aly Cissokho has welcomed rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool and described the Reds as a “great club”.
According to reports on Sky Sports News, the 25 year old Valencia player would jump at the opportunity to compete in the Premiership. Having only signed from Lyon last summer, Cissokho has made 20 appearances for the Spanish side so far this season. Sky Sports claim Liverpool wanted to sign the defender last summer and are now prepared to renew their interest.
The French man has now responded to the news adding it was “pleasing” to be linked with Liverpool. He went on to tell Sky Sports News:
” I’ve never hidden the fact that it is the English league which attracts me the most. It’s pleasing to see my name linked with Liverpool. They are a great club and not just anyone can wear that shirt. But it is still just an article in the newspaper”.
It is still early days in his Valencia career and a lot can happen between now and the end of the season, but Cissokho may yet be one who can wear that famous red shirt.
