German striker Miroslav Klose says he has no regrets turning down the chance to move to the Premiership, having instead decided to join Lazio in 2011.
The goal scoring sensation was targeted by a number of English clubs after he became available on a free transfer after his contract with Bayern Munich expired.
“I had offers from England, Germany and Turkey,” the 34-year-old told the Mundo Deportivo.
“However, at the end of the day, my family and I chose Rome and Lazio. We are a great team and I get on well with my teammates.”
The German international also confirmed that Barcelona had been in touch before he left Werder Bremen for Bayern:
“I was very close to Barca in 2007. It would have been nice as they are one of the best teams in the world.”
