Republic of Ireland players Sean St Ledger, Simon Cox and Darren Randolph were at Dundrum Town Centre on Monday to kick off Three’s ‘Armchair Manager’*, a brand new fan competition designed to celebrate real Irish football fans in conjunction with Three’s new TV ad ‘An Ode to Fans’.
Three’s ‘Armchair Manager’ will be touring the country over the coming months in search of budding armchair managers – fans who have shouted at the television, convinced they can do better! Successful Armchair Managers will then join Newstalk’s Ger Gilroy and special guests on Three’s new football preview panel ‘The Dugout’, live from the Aviva prior to Ireland home matches.
At the weekend football fans at Dundrum Town Centre battled it out for a chance to appear as the first ever Armchair Manager at ‘The Dugout’ – a special pre-match preview show filmed in the Players’ Lounge at the Aviva Stadium. Taking their turn in the hot seat, fans tried to convince Three, on camera why they should be the first Armchair Manager.
The lucky winner will be decided on March 22nd, and will join an exclusive panel including footballing legend Kevin Kilbane and boxer Bernard Dunne to discuss all things football in front of 500 football fans before kick off at the Aviva on March 26th.
Fans that didn’t make it to Dundrum can visit www.3football.ie this week to enter online for a chance to say their piece and sit in the hot seat.
Speaking about the search to find the first ‘Armchair Manager’, Sharon McHugh, Communications Manager at Three commented, “When it comes to football we all have an opinion and we are all guilty of screaming at the TV. As the primary sponsor of the Irish Football team, Three is delighted to offer some of the most passionate football fans around the country the opportunity to become the next Armchair Manager and appear alongside their footballing heroes in The Dugout on match day.”
