Brendan Rodgers may not be done with the January transfer window just yet, after agreeing a fee of Inter Milan’s Philippe Coutinho Liverpool may move for Tottenham Hotspur’s young midfielder Alex Pritchard.

News that Lewis Holtby is on his way from Schalke may be enough to give Liverpool the upper hand in talking with the attacking midfielder who has yet to make his debut for Spurs.

Pritchard has been at the centre of Spurs’ impressive NextGen development team over the last year and was reported to have caught the eye of Real Madrid and Barcelona scouts his performances in November.

The Merseysiders are now plotting a move for the player with former Spurs’ youth coach and current Liverpool reserve team coach Alex Inglethorpe keeping an interest in the 19-year-old.

Pritchard’s contract with Spurs is nearing an end and although he will be offered an extension it is reported that he wishes to keep his options open giving Inglethorpe and Rodgers a chance to convince him that his future may be best away from White Hart Lane.

The youngster is yet to make his full debut at Spurs but was called up to the first team squad for last year’s Europa League.

    What a load of nonsense!

Holtby’s arrival will have no bearing on Pritchard’s future at White Hart Lane.

Pritchard is a right footed player who plays on the left. Holtby is primarily an attacking central midfielder.

If Pritchard leaves (and he is currently negotiating a new 3.5 year contract with Spurs, according to rumours), it will not be because of Holtby.

If Pritchard leaves Spurs it will be the last straw
for many fans who see chairman Levy as a bigger ‘enemy’
    than the other Premier clubs.
Pritchard is reckoned to be the best of the next generation.

I have a better idea that many Spurs fans will applaud.
Offer Levy to anyone who will take him.
Replace him with an enthusiastic chairman, co owner who
will fund top class signings and, unlike Levy, allow
the club’s experts to control signings and team matters.

I’m afraid my sources tell me the lad is definitely leaving. He is negotiating a 3.5 year deal with Liverpool actually.

Indeed, he is in talks with Liverpool, but the contract will only materlise on condition that Pritchard plays like some kind of a mule or jackass just like the other Liverpool signings – Downing, Adam, Henderson, Carroll, Allen and Borini, just to name a few.

Was that video supposed to show us that Pritchard is well worth Liverpool making a bid because if so why not show us 5 mins of all his great goals and moments or was that the only 1 ?.Also that looked like a reserve match to me.Borrini scored 10 goals in 11 games for chelsea reserves when he was there so guess that means hes outstanding too lol.Im pretty sure our aim is to get champions league football again yet a lot of our targets seem to be reserve/back up players from teams were supposed to be challenging ?The clubs we seem to be battling with for players these days are teams like Southampton and Swansea .Newcastle don’t have champions league yet they still manage to bring in quality .just an example because i know some of you out there will tell me the reason is because we dont have champions league.Out of the last 15 to 20 signings we have made only Saurez and sturridge have looked quality although its still early days for Sturridge.Thats very poor and the main reason we dont get champions league these days.Rodgers has so far made at least 6 signings and only 1 player looks decent so far
