Liverpool FC got the perfect result at Anfield this afternoon when they beat Manchester United 1-0, thanks to a Daniel Sturrige goal after six minutes.
This was the first defeat for new Manchester United manager David Moyes, and leaves him five points behind Liverpool.
Manchester United lost the injured Phil Jones in the first half, were disjointed but improved slightly after the break when Nani went close before Robin van Persie fired wide.
Brendan Rodgers men defended well and despite six minutes injury time they held on for a 1-0 victory.
Liverpool FC have now won their opening three matches and sit on top of the Premier League on nine points, with Manchester City back in second on seven points.
