Gameiro has scored 20 goals in 67 PSG appearances but has fallen down the pecking order at the Parc Des Princes in recent times. The player was left on the bench again last weekend and is said to be ‘furious’ with his current position. A move away from Paris looks like a formality for the unsettled 25-year-old, with Liverpool expected to table a summer bid.

Brendan Rodgers identified Gameiro as a potential transfer target during January but was unable to prise the France international away from the Parisians. Rodgers is expected to renew his interest during the summer.

Liverpool have also been linked to Celtic’s tenacious midfielder, Victor Wanyama. However, they face stiff competition from Arsenal, with Wanyama’s father welcoming reports linking his son to the Gunners,

A busy summer is expected at Anfield, with up to four new signings expected. Another reported target is Valencia’s £9 million midfielder Sofiane Fenghouli. Other players linked with the Merseyside club include Newcastle’s Ben Arfa, Swansea’s Michu and Ajax’s Christian Eriksen.
