Manchester United snatch a FA Cup draw in Fergie Time

West ham looked to be set for victory until Robin van Persie scored in stoppage time as Manchester United remained in the FA Cup by the skin of their teeth and denied West Ham a famous win.

Tom Cleverley gave the visitors the lead before James Collins headed the equaliser, Collins was on target again to give the Hammers the lead before Van Persie latched on to Ryan Giggs’s through-ball to earn the visitors a replay.

Joe Cole had a great game on his West Ham debut and had been substituted just before the second Man Utd goal.

West Ham midfielder Joe Cole on ITV: “They are a quality side, they have done that countless times. They have world class players like Van Persie and Giggs.

“I felt we defended really well and we were unlucky not to win. It feels like a missed chance, we have to go to Old Trafford and that is a tough game but we done it before.

“It was a nice return for me. I don’t like all the fuss I just want to get out and play football and it was nice to get out, be involved and get minuntes under my belt. I still feel I need a few more games, but it was nice to get out there.”

Alex Ferguson commented after the match “You just hope you get a break when your behind in the dieing seconds, it was a super pass by Ryan Giggs to set up the goal”
