It sounds like the makings of a Liverpool chant but Old Trafford has a rodent problem. An inspection of Manchester United’s ground found that the Premier League leaders had ‘mouse activity’ and criticised the club for flaking paintwork and a broken tap while other top sides also displayed less than ideal attitudes to hygiene.
Chelsea were reported to have been close to a serious breach of hygiene rules when they nearly served out of date turkey saddles at Stanford Bridge.
Swansea City’s rap-sheet reads like a lazy student’s flat with ready-cooked chicken served pink as well as ‘out of date watercress, out of date pate and an open packet of cooked ham left in a kitchen.’
Elsewhere, Reading were told to clean away from dead insects and Fulham had left a box of bread rolls under a sink.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Sunderland were top of the class with no breaches found in their grounds.
