The Swansea City chairman, Huw Jenkins has admitted that Michael Laudrup is unlikely to still be at the club, beyond the end of next season.
Laudrup still has 16 months remaining on his contract, and has been linked with a number of clubs, wince recently guiding the Swans to League Cup success.
“We always do that process of looking for the next manager, it never changes,” Jenkins told The Sun. “We look at different teams and how they play, different managers and if they have the right backgrounds to suit us.
“You have to have an understanding of what is about on the market and what would suit our club. You can look ahead, whether it is for two or five year’s time.”
Swansea are currently in eighth place in the Premiership and the manager is hoping that even better is ahead:
“Eighth would be incredible – for me, it would be like winning the league. It would be fantastic.
“I think the first seven spots are already there; Manchester [United], Manchester [City], Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton. Coming eighth [will be] like winning the league because the other seven are above us.”
