Boylepsorts can report that Mick McCarthy is the latest man to be backed to be the next permanent Republic of Ireland manager following support in the past 24 hours.
McCarthy who has already managed the Boys in Green has been supported from 5/2 on Tuesday morning into the clear favourite at Evens.
Martin O’Neill who was once red hot favourite to replace Trapattoni has drifted even further and can now be backed at 2/1 whilst interim manager Noel King has now drifted out to 20/1 from 12/1.
Gerard Houllier who was supported last week to take over the reins is currently on offer at 8/1 whilst Johan Cruyff can be backed at 16/1 with Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker.
Leon Blanche, Head of Communications at Boylesports said “The Next ROI manager market has changed so many times in the past three weeks but punters now certainly think that Mick McCarthy is the man for the job having punted him into Evens from 5/2.”
He added “At one stage Roy Keane was totally ruled out of the equation but we cut him into 12/1 from 16/1 on Monday following support over the weekend both online and in our Munster shops.”
