MILAN (AP) — AC Milan says the ankle injury picked up by defender Mario Yepes in its Serie A game against Bologna is a serious one and will require further tests.

Yepes was substituted just after the hour mark in Sunday’s 2-2 draw.

The Colombia center back underwent medical tests on Tuesday and Milan says he has “a serious injury to his right ankle.” He will undergo further tests on Wednesday to determine how long he will have to spend on the sidelines.

Milan is third in the Serie A standings, two points behind Juventus and Udinese.
