Everton breathed new life into their push for a European place with a comfortable win which increased Reading’s relegation worries.
Marouane Fellaini headed the hosts ahead with his 12th goal of the season late in the first half.
Everton dominated the second half from the get go and Steven Pienaar doubled the lead with a stunning long-range strike and Kevin Mirallas made it 3-0. Hal Robson-Kanu grabbed a late consolation for Reading.
The loss left Reading in the relegation zone and just three points ahead of last-place Queens Park Rangers.
