Paris St-Germain’s new manager Laurent Blanc has ruled out a bid for want away Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
Rooney, 27, has suggested he no longer sees a future at Old Trafford, and he has been in the news all summer since Sir Alex Ferguson claimed he asked for a transfer at the end of last season. Howeverm the player and his agent have always rejected those claims.
Rooney has said he was ‘angry and confused’ at the club after new boss David Moyes suggested he would play second fiddle to Robin Van Persie up front this season.
However, an escape to France now looks unlikely as Blanc is not looking to add Rooney to his attack according to the Metro
“He is an amazing player, his qualities are well known by everyone,” Blanc said. “But in attack we are well supplied.
“We will rather look for players in midfield. If there should be another reinforcement, it should be in that position.
“Rooney could play anywhere, but his best position is in the heart of attack.”
Betting still favours that Rooney will stay at Manchester United (5/6), Chelsea (5/4), Arsenal (12/1), PSG (14/1)
