Manchester United could welcome Wayne Rooney and Nani back to their starting line-up for their crucial visit to Chelsea on Sunday.

Both players picked up knocks in United’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal ten days ago, with Rooney hurting his ankle and Nani sustaining an injury to his foot.

Ashley Young, who has missed over a month with an ankle injury, may also return to the side.

United pulled level with rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League Tuesday night and Alex Ferguson believes at least two of his club’s main players will return to action on Sunday.

Talking to MUTV, Ferguson said: “We’re hopeful Wayne Rooney, Nani and possibly Ashley Young will be fit for Sunday”.

United are entering a critical period for their title ambitions, as they play Chelsea away, Liverpool at home and Tottenham away within their next four matches.
