Algeria suffered a 2-1 defeat to Belgium after frustrating Marc Wilmot’s side for long periods. Sofiane Feghouli scored from the penalty spot before Marouane Fellaini equalized with a header in the 70th minute after coming of the bench. Fellow substitute Dries Mertens scored the winner in the 80th minute. South Korea drew with Russia in their opening game in what was a disappointing result for Fabio Capello’s side.Lee Keunho put the Koreans 1-0 up before veteran striker Alexander Kerzhakov scored an important equalizer.
The 21 year old impressed in the Bundesliga last year with his pace and dribbling ability seeing him become of Leverkuson’s best performers. Son scored 10 goals in 31 appearances in the Bundesliga last year an impressive strike rate for the wide man. He will be one of the few Korean players with experience of Champions league football. Son has scored 6 goals at International level and Korea will be hoping that he can use his pace to penetrate this Algerian defence. Son had a decent opening game his pace and technique proving a threat to the Russian defence. He will be key in this game for south Korea.
Feghouli has impressed in Spanish Football with Valencia. The 24 year old is primarily a right sided midfielder but can also play in a more central role. Feghouli represented France up until U21 level but switched allegiance in 2011. Feghouli has scored 5 goals in 19 internationals so he is more a creator than scorer of goals. Having played 5 seasons in the Spanish top flight he is one of the more experienced Algerian players who has played at a high level. Feghouli had a decent game against Belgium and if they can get him in more attacking positions he can create chances he slotted away the penalty against Belgium.
South Korea have went with the following team and are expected to use a 4-5-1 formation.
South Korea:Jung, Yun, Kim, Son, Park, Lee, Koo, Han, Ki, C. Lee, Hong
Algeria have named the following side in what is expected to be a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Algeria: Mbolhi; Mesbah, Bouguerra, Medjani, Halliche, Feghouli, Brahimi, Slimani, Bentaleb, Djabou, Mandi
Algeria demonstrated in their opening game that they will be hard to break down . I expect them to show a little more in this encounter going forward. Korea played well in their opener and posses some good ability in midfield areas. I think this one may end as a draw on a 1-1 score line. Algeria to be winning at half time and a draw at full time is 14/1 in what looks a standout bet with boylesports
