Transfer News: Liverpool FC set to renew interest in Ukrainian winger

Updated: November 18, 2013

The transfer window draws ever nearer to opening, teams all across Europe are beginning to finalise their wish list to strengthen their teams.

Of course, not all clubs will land the man they want as competition grows increasingly fierce as the deadline draws closer, however there is still much drama and excitement to come over the course of the next two months, and offers are sure to be rebuffed, countered and some, accepted.

Brendan Rodgers is one such man looking to bring in more talent to bolster his ranks, with Inside Futbol reporting that Liverpool are set to approached Dynamo Kyiv for a second time in an effort to prise away one of their key playmakers Andriy Yarmolenko.

If the reports turn out to be true, Liverpool fans will hope that the signing will help secure their side a Champions League spot for next season.

Brendan Rodgers is unlikely to be static in the transfer window this January, although he will still be keen to bring in the 23-year-old rising star in an effort to increase their chances of taking home some silverware this season.

Sitting in second place, the former Swansea boss will be happy with how things have gone for the Reds so far. However, he won’t want to rest on his laurels anytime soon, and the reports of this transfer are a testament to his desire to continue to improve the squad he already has at his disposal.

Yarmolenko who normally plays as a winger for his current club scored 11 league goals last season and has become an integral part of the  Ukrainian national team over the past two years, however the biggest asset he could bring to Merseyside is his winning mentality, as he won the Ukrainian Premier League back in 2009.
