After his 2 goals broke English hearts last night. It is being speculated that Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is being lined up as Barcelona’s next big signing of the summer.

The Catalans have already signed Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic and are lining up a potential £52million to acquire the services of the Liverpool star.

Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo have reported that newly installed coach Luis Enrique is looking to partner the Uruguayan in a front 3 with Lionel Messi and Neymar. Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez is being heavily linked with a move away from the Catalan club and Suarez would be seen as an ideal replacement.

The Liverpool striker has a £68million release clause in his contract after signing a new deal for the Reds in December of last year. there is however speculation in Spain that if Real Madrid or Barcelona come in with an offer that the release clause is reduced to £52 million pounds.

Suarez enjoyed a remarkable season with the Reds last year scoring 31 goals in 33 games and winning PFA Players player of the year. However the lure of one of the Spanish giants may prove too much too resist as was the case with previous PFA Player of the year Gareth Bale. It seems that the Spanish giants are continuing to target the Premier Leagues finest talent.

Spanish paper Sportclaims Barca President Josep Maria Bartomeu is targeting Suarez as their number one target with Gonzalo Higuain also mentioned but Suarez is their main man. Luis Enrique is expected to introduce a number of new players into his squad that failed to win a trophy last year.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez and there has been that the Chile winger could be included in a deal that would see Suarez join Barcelona with Sanchez going the other way.
