Transfer News: Manchester United set sign two defenders

It has been reported that Manchester United are set for double swoop for Porto duo Alex Sandro and Eliaquim Mangala, according to The Daily Star.

Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra are not getting any younger and it appears that Utd boss David Moyes has found two players that will help a defense that has already conceded 19 goals in the premier leagues opening 16 games.

The Red Devils watched the duo during Porto’s 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid recently and  the wheels set to be in motion for them to make a bid during the January transfer window.

David Moyes still remains keen on his former Everton full-back Leighton Baines but may now opt for Sandro as he looks to bring him in alongside 22-year-old Mangala.

Manchester United can book their place in the semi-final of the Capital One Cup with a victory over Stoke City this evening.
