With Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal currently managing the Netherlands at the World Cup it seems inevitable that a number of his Dutch squad are being linked with a move to Manchester.
Van Gaal is renowned for giving youth a chance and he try to recruit a number of talented young Dutch players who are impressing at the World Cup.
The 24 year old is currently impressing at this year’s World Cup at left back. The Ajax defender could be seen as a replacement for the aging Patrice Evra. Blind is well aware of the speculation linking him with a move away. Blind told reporters “The link with Manchester United is easily made because Robin [van Persie] is playing there and Van Gaal takes over next season.”
Blind is under contract until 2016 and it is believed that he can be purchased for as little as £6 million. He provided a magnificent assist for Robin Van Persie which may be a sign of things to come next season.
Depay is an exciting young winger who proved the difference for the Netherlands against Australia firing in a long powerful effort which are a trademark of the PSV winger. The young winger is unsure of where his future lies. He told reporters” I don’t know if I will stay at PSV after the World Cup, you never know what will happen.’
Depay has been lauded with title of the Dutch Cristiano Ronaldo and possess similar attributes such as pace, strength and a powerful right foot from distance. The 20 year old scored 13 goals for PSV in the Dutch top flight last year and it is thought he could be purchased for about £15m.
Bruno Martins Indi
The Feyenoord defender is very highly rated and has impressed at this year’s World Cup where he stifled the impact of Diego Costa. Manchester United have lost Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand and will look to strengthen in the centre of their defence.
The 22 year old is only 5’11 but has the pace and tactical awareness to make vital interceptions and athleticism to compete in the air. Martins Indi could be the man to that Van Gaal trusts to shore up a United defence that looked shaky last year.
