Here is a list of all the sporting events that will keep punters happy on Tuesday
The Champions League takes centre stage on Tuesday, when there are eight Match-day 5 group games. The live games are:
Spartak Moscow v Barcelona (5pm, Sky Sports 2)
Benfica v Celtic (7:45pm, Sky Sports 2, TV3)
Galatasaray v Man Utd (7:45pm, Sky Sports 4, Setanta Ireland)
Juventus v Chelsea (7:45pm, Setanta Sports 1)
There is also a full programme in Leagues One and ten fixtures from League Two. There are three Blue Square Premier Division fixtures and two from Scottish Division Two.
Tuesday’s main fixtures are:
Southwell (12:20pm, flat)
Full houses in all but three of the races, and they haven’t fared too badly either, meaning that a competitive day of racing at the Nottinghamshire venue lies ahead. Richard Hannon, Richard Fahey, Kevin Ryan, Silvestre de Sousa and Luke Morris are all names appearing on the race card.
Folkestone (12:40pm, jumps)
A largely competitive card in which the in-form combination of father and son, Gary and Jamie Moore, have three runners. The legendary AP McCoy is the star turn from the saddle.
Wexford (12:55pm, jumps) – the track is subject to an 8am inspection on Tuesday morning.
The eye is drawn to two runners for Willie Mullins, one of them ridden by Ruby Walsh (Reine Angevine, 1:55pm), his only ride on the card, plus Edward O’Grady’s Lord of Lords in the opener and Colman Sweeney and the high-class hunter chaser Salsify in the finale. Something for everyone …
Fakenham (1pm, jumps)
There are no more than seven runners in five of the six races, with 11 in the other, the opening contest. Punters may well be eyeing the card with interest. Donald McCain Jnr sends one runner across country to the Norfolk track, Brady (2pm), which Jason Maguire rides. Barney Curley has a runner in the opening race. Dual course and distance winner, Roc de Guye, runs in the 1:30pm race. He has won here in November 2010 and November 2011 …
In South Africa, they race at Scottsville (10:40am, flat) and Turffontein (2:55pm, flat).
To mark your card, Thursday is Thanksgiving Day in the USA, when there will be three NFL games from Week 12 of the season. There will then be 12 games on Sunday, followed by the Monday night game.
There are seven NBA fixtures scheduled from 12:05am on Tuesday morning.
On Eurosport 2 at 7:15pm, there is live coverage of a EuroCup group match, Valencia Baskets v Oliver Baskets. There is also live coverage of another EuroCup game (tbc) on Eurosport 2 at 5:30pm.
Live coverage of the College basketball, second semi-final of the Maui Invitational is on ESPN at 3:30am on Wednesday morning.
This week’s big tournament is the end-of-season DP World Tour Championship in Dubai (22-25 November). 57 of top-60 the European Tour’s earners will line up for the event, although Rory McIlroy has, of course, already landed the ‘Race To Dubai’, Order of Merit, crown.
