Two Guinea players excused due to cold weather

Updated: February 7, 2012

STUTTGART, Germany (AP) — Stuttgart coach Bruno Labbadia is resting two Guinea players in the German Cup match against Bayern Munich because they have yet to get used to the cold temperatures in Germany after playing at the African Cup of Nations.

Labbadia says Ibrahima Traore and Mamadou Bah “have to get used to the cold temperatures first” before they can play again.

Traore says the cold was “a real shock” upon his return from Gabon following Guinea’s elimination.

The difference in temperature between the countries is nearly 40 degrees Celsius.

Stuttgart hosts Bayern in the quarterfinals of the German Cup on Wednesday.
