West Ham set to hijack Ramis deal

Updated: July 30, 2012

Wigan’s pursuit of Real Mallorca defender Ivan Ramis, is set to end in failure with him signing for West Ham according to the Mirror.co.uk

Last week Sky Sports reported that the Latics were poised to sign Ramis after they increased their bid to £3.5 million. The 27 year old has been linked with several British clubs this summer including Aston Villa, Celtic, Everton and Sunderland. Speculation now suggests that West Ham have joined the race and are attempting to hijack Wigan’s transfer bid.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Ramis said, “I have played my last match for Mallorca because there is a new and very interesting offer for me. Wigan is not the best proposition for me.”
