Chelsea are set to sell Petr Čech this summer and have eyed Newcastle netminder Tim Krul as his replacement.
Krul has been in outstanding form this season and has been a major part of Newcastle’s push for a Champions League placing.
Hierarchy at Stamford Bridge meanwhile have been put off by Čech’s dipping standards in performance and now want to sell the Czech international.
A number of other top Premier League clubs; including Tottenham and Arsenal are reportedly interested in the Newcastle custodian’s services. But the Guardian report £15 million transfer fee and £90,000 per week wages would be beyond the north London rivals means however.
Chelsea sources have reportedly been very impressed with the 24 year-old and would be willing to up-the-ante in a bid to secure the services of a man they want to be the long term number one goalkeeper for the three time Premier League champions.
