No injury worries for Leinster

Updated: April 16, 2012

The Leinster squad stepped up their preparations ahead of Friday night’s RaboDirect PRO12 derby against Ulster in Ravenhill (KO: 7.05pm) with their first on-field training session of the week in UCD on Monday afternoon.

The Leinster medical team have reported no fresh injury concerns for the province arising from Friday night’s 54-13 victory over Edinburgh. Centre Gordon D’Arcy was withdrawn late on and received five stitches to a cut above his eye, but the Wexford man will be available for selection this week.

Aside from the usual bumps and bruises, there are no other major injury concerns and the province should be in a position to welcome back a number of players who were rested on Friday, in a game which saw Academy tight-head prop Martin Moore make his senior debut.

Isa Nacewa’s 12 point tally (which included a try) took him to 127 points in 23 games so far this year.

Isaac Boss is just one cap away from passing the half century mark in just his second season for the province, while Eoin O’Malley is two appearances shy of the same landmark. The Leinster team will be announced at midday on Thursday.

The Leinster Rugby Annual Awards Ball takes place in the Mansion House, Dublin on Saturday night.  At the annual awards ball we celebrate the achievements of the province’s underage, Club, Schools and Women’s game while another Leinster legend will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The final award of the evening will be the Bank of Ireland Player of the Year, as voted by the playing squad. Barry Murphy (of Après Match fame) will be MC on the night while there will be live music from Smash Hits. Tickets, priced €89, are still available from
