We have live updates on Irish boxers at Olympic qualifiers in Trabzon in Turkey, where Paddy Barnes and David Oliver Joyce could qualify for London this afternoon

7:17pm Tomas McCarthy wins 16-7. He needs to win the final to qualify for the Olympics. He fights Vladimir Cheles of Moldava in semi on Friday

7:12pm McCarthy leads 11-3 despite getting a standing count, The Hungarian gets a public warning for spoiling.

7:08pm Great start from the Belfast heavyweight, he leads 3-1 after round 1.

7:04pm Fight is underway

7:03pm Tommy McCarthy’s fight with Jozsef Darmos is about to start.

6:02pm Paddy talking after his win.

5:31pm Great news as Paddy Barnes has qualified for London 2012 and will hope for gold after getting a bronze in Beijing. He wins 17-9. He joins Michael Conlon, Darren ONeill and John Joe Nevin in the London 2012 Olympics

5:27pm Super round from Barnes, he now leads 12 to 6 only three minutes away from the Olympic games.

5:26pm Two more rounds like that and Paddy Barnes will be at London 2012

2:38pm Adam Nolan wins 17-13, he will be in a semi final on Friday to qualify for the Olympics where he will fight Gheorghe from Romania.

2:32pm Its getting very tight, Adam leads 12-11 after round two.

2:28pm Adam Nolan leads 6-3 after round one.

2:24pm Fight gets underway

2:15pm Adam Nolan is about to start his fight with Abdullayev in the quarter finals. Nolan needs to reach the final to get a place at the Olympics.

13:45pm Joyce in huge trouble he is 13 6 down after the second round.

13:40pm Joyce down 6 to 3 after first round.

13:22pm David Oliver Joyce will be entering the ring in the next twn minutes.

12:50pm Just around 45 minutes and David Oliver Joyce will have his Olympic dreams hopefully realised. The St Michael’s Athy BC man Joyce was only called up to the Irish squad after Michael McDonagh withdrew.
