There is a seven race mixed card at Tipperary this evening where spectators can enjoy the best of both codes of racing as there are two Flat races and five National Hunt races scheduled for the meeting.
The most valuable event on the card is the opening race, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden where only three runners have been declared. Paddy Prendergast will be represented by Katchy Lady who was fourth the Liberating at Cork on her debut and she is likely to be a warm order in this contest.
Wellmarked can get back to winning ways in the second race, the Follow Tipperary On Facebook H´cap (Rated 47-65) at 5.25. Pat Fahey’s gelding by Choisir has to carry top weight in what looks a very weak race. Kanes Pass might be the horse that gives him most to think about.
The first National Hunt race on the card at 5.55 provides Tobar Na Gaoise with a perfect opportunity to get off the mark over hurdles. While the second division of the race can go to Henry de Bromhead’s An Dearthair Og who will be ridden by Andrew Lynch.
The most competitive race on the card is the 6.55, the Schooling At Tipperary Maiden Hurdle. Charles Byrnes’ Shrapnal will be favourite for the race but it may well be worth taking him on with Paul Cashman’s mare Brookville.
The final two races on the card can go to Code Of The West and On A High respectively.
