Munster clinched a play spot as they let slip a 17-7 lead to draw 20-20 away to Welsh side Scarlets.

Sean Lamont opened the scoring with a contender for the try of the season before efforts from Donnacha Ryan and Simon Zebo put Munster in control.

Two penalties from Ian Keatley either side of a Rhys Priestland put Munster 10 points ahead with 30 minutes to play.

That was to be the end of Munster’s scoring however as first Priestland converted a Aaron Shingler try before the Wales number 10 levelled the tie with nine minutes to go.

The Scarlets push for a winner however Munster’s defence held firm.

Munster now sits third in the table and while the point for Nigel Davies men kept their slim playoff hopes alive.
