PSV Eindhoven and Dutch international left back Erik Pieters would be tempted with a move to Tyneside according to his agent.
Although there has been no formal contacts by either party the players agent Piet van der Pol has expressed the player’s interest in playing for the Magpies to the Newcastle Journal. The PSV Eindhoven defender is currently out of action with injury but has been playing close attention to Newcastle’s form of late as he is good friends with goalkeeper Tim Krul.
Pieters was a target for Newcastle Manager Alan Pardew last season. However, there were delays with the signing of the player that led Pardew to sign Davide Santon instead. Newcastle’s form this season has been quite extraordinary and will be attracting many more European players interest to play for the side. With the opportunity of Champions League football next season for the club it is no wonder they are creating interest from such players.
